Here are a few retro pieces that I've collected. The matching tea, coffee and biscuit jar are made by Crown Devon, the cups and mixer are Pyrex and the plates are Melmex and the table cloth is actually a bed sheet!

Retro Orange
Bright colours and bold patterns make a classic retro look. A striking zesty orange is a typical colour often combined with an earthy brown or green to create a true 60/70's look.

Coddled Eggs for Breakfast
I went to visit my mum over the weekend and she gave me this cute Royal Worcester egg coddler. I've seen these little pots before but was never quite sure what they were for. To be honest I didn't really know what a coddled egg was either, but I soon found out and they are pretty tasty.
Place a small knob of butter at the bottom of the coddler and then crack an egg into it, screw the lid on.
Place in boiling water for about 6-8 minutes
Unscrew the lid and you find a delicious buttery egg.
Very tasty!

Afternoon Tea
Here is another pretty tea set that I've found recently. It's by a company called Roslyn China who manufactured china between the 1940's and 1960's. This set was made in the 50's and is perfect for enjoying afternoon tea in the Spring sunshine.

Pyrex Passion
Without even realising it I seem to have developed a passion for Pyrex. Over recent months I've managed to accumulate quite a few retro bowls in different sizes and designs. I love the simplicity and versatility of Pyrex, it's very clever - oven proof, dishwasher proof, hard wearing, brings a bit of classic style to your dinner table, comes in all shapes and sizes, has a 101 different uses and has never gone out of fashion - perfect.
I love the rustic design on this mixing bowl - very Farmer Chic! |

Todays Find
I found this pretty set of 6 tea cups, saucers and side plates today. They would look great on kitchen shelves or used in a bedroom to keep small perfume bottles or jewellery.
